As the name suggests, this was built in Washington D.C. in honor of Abraham Lincoln, the United States' 16th President. The memorial is designed by Henry Bacon, with artworks by Jules Guerin and Daniel Chester French.
The structure is built in the tradition of the Greek Doric temple, with 36 columns, each standing at 37 feet. It is made of Yule marble and Indiana limestone. What will greet you upon entrance is an enormous sculpture of Abraham Lincoln gazing pensively towards the Washington Monument. This statue is made of white George marble and is 6 meters in both height and width. Other notable items in the memorial include the President's Gettysburg Address and his second inaugural address.
