Georgia Region Guide

Overview

Georgia is one of the southern states in the United States of America. Also, this state was one of the original 13 colonies that ended up revolting against that British rule, which turned into the American Revolution and created the United States. Georgia was the last of the 13 to be established as a colony. When it came time to enter into the United States, Georgia was the fourth state to ratify the Constitution, which happened on the second of January in 1788.

Georgia seceded from the Union on January 21st, 1861, and it became one of the original seven Confederate states. After the civil war, Georgia was the last state to be readmitted to the union, which happened on July 15th, 1870.

In terms of today’s world, Georgia is one of the states in the United States that is the fastest growing. Its population has shown great leaps and bounds with each census that is taken. There are many things that set this state apart from the rest of the states in the United States, and its nicknames of the Peach State and the Empire State Of the South are just the beginning.

The state of Georgia benefits from its borders – on the south by Florida, the west by Alabama, the north by Tennessee and North Carolina, and the east by the Atlantic Ocean. The ocean as well as the mountain ranges that are located in the state – the Blue Ridge Mountains, which are part of the Appalachians, create a state that has many different opportunities for just about anything you’d like to do while you are visiting there.

Not only is the ocean and beaches accessible in Georgia, which means that there are plenty of chances for sight seeing that includes beach sitting, there are mountain ranges which altogether yield to many different forms of entertainment and enjoyable outings. There are many different places where you can hike and camp, and also there are places where you are going to be able to be out in nature and witness the huge mountain ranges that are near the ocean as well.

The capital and biggest city, which is Atlanta, provides every traveler with a taste of the old south. The entire city is seeped in history, and it is a place where you can find just about anything, and where anything can happen for you. There are many different versions of what you can possibly do while in Atlanta, but one of the things that most people choose to do is revisit the history of the south, which although tragic and sad at times, is an important part of the history of the United States. With these places, you can be sure to learn about the south, and enjoy yourself at the same time, because not only are they educational, they are fun as well.

There isn’t only history in Georgia for you to witness. There are also many different forms of adventure that you can take part in. There are many different things for you to see and do there, from the mountain ranges to the hills and flatlands of the coast – you can do just about any outdoor activity that is known to the world.

Some of the most popular attractions in Georgia include the many trails that exist simply for you to be on. There are many different trails that are used for biking and hiking, as well as running and riding. These trails are used by many people each and every day, tourists as well as people who simply call Georgia and these areas their home. The trails are also nice because they are different forms of entertainment, and can be used at different ability levels. There are all kinds of trails that are for beginners as well as for advanced hikers and bikers, and there are many different lengths of trails so you can plan each of your days accordingly.

Outdoor fun is only part of what Georgia has to offer – but it is a big part. There are many different trails, yes, but there is also the ocean to consider. There are many different things that you can see and do near the ocean – including fishing. Sport fishing is something that is catching on many different states, and Georgia is one of them. Imagine being able to spend a day out on a boat and catch those fish that you have always dreamed about!

Another tourist attraction for you to consider when it comes to outdoor fun is the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, where you can visit wildlife in their natural habitat, and learn more about yourself than you’ll ever know!

Don’t let the outdoors be the only thing that you do in Georgia however. There is plenty of old south and civil war history that you can be a part of while you visit Georgia. There are plenty of historical landmarks in and around Atlanta and the other cities that you are going to be able to see and enjoy. And for those of you that don’t like history OR the outdoors, there are plenty of amusement parks, shopping, and other types of activities for just about anyone.

With the fact that Georgia is one of the fastest growing states, you’ll also be sure to know that no matter where you go in Georgia or what you are doing, you are going to be finding times to experience new things. This is because there is are new things being produced in Georgia to attract tourists and to attract others all of the time! Not only will you be able to see and do more than you ever thought you would, you’ll be able to spend your time wisely and get in all different parts of sightseeing during your trip!
