Asunción, the capital city of Paraguay has been developed along the banks of the Paraguay River. The country is mostly populated on the eastern side owing to more fertile lands in comparison to the western side. The city is sprawled with low level hills spread in a rectangular pattern across the country. Subtle hills like Lambare, Tacumbu, and Taruma welcome its visitors looking for a cool peaceful environment.

The country witness myriad ranges in the temperature throughout the year. However, humidity in the air is found throughout the year. The highest temperature is as high as 33 degree Celsius and minimum temperature could be as low as 18 degree Celsius. The country overall experiences a cool climate with downpours throughout the year.

The best way of reaching Asunción is via plane. Countries outside South America have direct flights to the airport of the country, Silvio Pettirossi International Airport. Other options are by taking trains, bus and ships, since the country has a large port.

The country is rich in its historical preserves. Casa Viola, a prime representation of colonial art is a prime tourist spot for visitors. It was renovated by the Spanish government to commemorate the 500th anniversary of America’s discovery. Casa de la Independicia is yet another favorite historic spot which marks the meeting point of revolutionaries in 1811 revolution. The Museo de Bellas Artes is a home to South American artists’ work and representations. They contain some of the most sought-after sculptures and paintings by Paraguayan artists.
