Overview

Biennale Danza is La Biennale di Venezia's yearly festival dedicated to contemporary dance and choreography, held annually (unlike the Art and Architecture Biennales, which alternate years). It typically runs for about two weeks in late spring or early summer.

As with the festival's other disciplines, a Golden Lion for Dance is awarded each year to a choreographer or company recognized for their body of work, alongside a program of performances at venues across the city.
