Hotel Bauer Palazzo

The Bauer occupies a prominent site between Campo San Moisè and the Grand Canal, combining a historic palace frontage with a twentieth-century modern wing. Opened in 1880 as the Grand Hotel d'Italie Bauer-Grünwald, it became one of Venice's best-known grand hotels.

The property is undergoing a multi-year renovation and is not currently operating as a hotel. Rosewood plans to reopen it as Rosewood Hotel Bauer, but no opening date should be assumed until the operator confirms one.

This is a closed construction and restoration site rather than a visitor attraction. Respect barriers and private access, and view the exterior from Campo San Moisè or public waterside routes.

The building stands on Campo San Moisè, a short walk from Piazza San Marco, with a private landing on the Grand Canal. It is currently closed during renovation and should be viewed only from public areas. Check the operator's official page for a confirmed reopening announcement.
