To include an image In the late 1800s, some of the wealthiest families in the country built “summer cottages” in Newport –grand residences with hundreds of rooms, houses that bear names like The Breakers, Rosecliff, Marble House, and Chateau-sur-Mer. Newport’s nightlife and ocean side ambience attract hundreds of thousands of visitors all summer long. Yacht races, astounding scenery, the annual Newport Tennis Hall of Fame competition, and the world famous Newport Jazz and Folk Festivals just add to the attraction.
